All children try to draw what they what they create in their imagination, using as few or as many colors as they want. And while a few parents might proudly hang on their fridges and walls the colorful artworks, this is generally all we can do to truly appreciate their efforts. However, we live in times when innovation is what everyone lives and breathes, so it is little suprise that someone has come up with the idea of turning all the cute, strange and seemingly absurd children’s drawings into real-life plush equivalents. And it’s quite impressive.
Alex Furmansky, who was inspired by the drawings of his younger sister, founded Budsies in 2013. He thought to himself after seeing his little sis Michelle tucking her stuffed animals in bed, “What if I could turn a drawing into a stuffed animal friend that would last forever? “It led him to’ borrow’ one of Michelle’s drawings, one of Dongler, a dog-like creature, and turned it into a stuffed South Florida plush. And so the first Budsie was born.
“In the beginning, most of the orders were of kids’ drawings, doodles, and other artwork” Budsies representative Melissa told Bored Panda. “Now, we see everything from a child’s first drawing, to detailed original characters, author’s book characters, sports team mascots and more. The idea is truly limitless and that’s what makes Budsies so special” she added.
