7 Warning Signs Your Body Needs Help

Our bodies have a way of telling us if something’s going wrong. Even when the problem seems to be neurological, the human body will show us symptoms in a physical form.

Although our bodies happen to be extremely good communicators, we don’t always have the sense to listen.

This isn’t good, especially when our bodies tend to communicate the best when they need help.

The body has an immense amount of working parts; it’s no surprise that some of those parts tend to have issues from time to time.

When this happens, our bodies communicate and show us specific, physical representations of the issues themselves.

Here are seven important signs that your body is asking for help.

1. An Increased Desire for Sugary Foods

Our diets play vital roles when it comes to our brains’ and bodies’ abilities to operate. An increased desire for sweets means it’s time to make a healthy change.

Although it’s difficult to eat healthy, the cravings will diminish in time.

2. An Increased Desire for Salty Foods

Salt is a mineral that our bodies actually need in order to function at their best. If you’re an athlete, you need even more salt to counteract the amount of minerals lost during activity.

An increased desire to eat salty foods may indicate you need more.

3. Itchy Dry Skin

Dry skin can be mild to fairly severe, but it’s always uncomfortable.

If you have persistent dry skin, you can counteract these effects by increasing the amount of Vitamin E in your diet. This includes fish, nuts, and healthy oils.

4. Cramping or Insomnia

If you’re cramping, having trouble sleeping, or not sleeping at all, this could indicate a lack of magnesium.

Magnesium is an inhibitor of neuronal activity, and potassium, an important nutrient for the brain, heart, and muscles.

Try eating green, leafy vegetables, nuts, or bananas to get rid of these symptoms.

5. Blood in the Mouth or Gums

When you bleed from your mouth or gums very easily, or seemingly for no reason at all, this is typically associated with a lack of Vitamin C.

It could also mean that you need to take better care of your oral hygiene as well.

6. Brittleness in Nails or Hair

This sign is similar to persistently dry skin because both typically indicate a vitamin deficiency.

Low levels of either Vitamin B or Calcium can force these areas to dry, scale, or even crack. Eat more foods with calcium or whole grains.

7. An Increased Desire for Seafood

There are two possible solutions to why your body is craving more seafood; it’s either a lack of nutrients or minerals, or it has to do with a lack of iodine.

Mostly likely, your body is craving more protein, and seafood can be a healthy option in moderation.
